Benchmark indices tumble as Moderna comment adds to market fears

The Sensex slumped 1,100 points from the day's high of 58,183.77 before closing at 57,064.87, down 195.71 points or 0.3 per cent from the previous close. The Nifty ended 70.75 points or 0.41 per cent down at 16,983.20. It finished more than 340 points down from the day's high of 17,324.65.
