Higher economic activity sends the transport sector on its path to recovery

With better capacity utilisations across most popular routes, freight rates in October were higher by about 7% on average compared to August, data showed. This is more than the cost increase due to elevated diesel prices over this period. A litre of diesel now costs more Rs 100 in multiple states.
