Insurers to make life, health cover norms tougher: A new cover story in times of Covid

The cold logic of the insurance business — stricter underwriting norms for future policies to make up for high payouts on current ones in a covid-ravaged nation — will especially affect Indians with comorbidities, history of mental illness, who are frontline workers or unemployed or self-employed, or have a low credit score. Those recently recovered from Covid will also bear the brunt.
