Discom dues hit Rs 1 lakh crore till last week

Industry sources said several parts of Jharkhand are facing power cuts as state-owned Damodar Valley Corp is restricting supply in the wake of unpaid bills. According to sources, the combined regulatory assets or deferred tariff hikes of the distribution companies are around Rs 1.25 lakh crore, while the consolidated debt stands at Rs 6 lakh crore.
