India's top steelmakers hike prices by Rs 3,000 - Rs 3,500 a tonne due to rising cost inflation

“This was an expected move by the Industry. The cost inflation is too high. Our fuel costs have gone up by more than 70% yoy and a fall in iron ore price is minimal,” said an executive at one of Indias top steelmakers. The price increase is effective Monday. The benchmark HRC prices are quoting around Rs 72,500 levels.
