Coal supplies picking up, focus on demand next year: Renewable energy minister RK Singh

India's thermal power stations are operating with coal stocks at alarmingly low levels as rain hit supplies and power demand surged. Data showed that, on October 6, as much as 133 GW of India's monitored 165 GW coal base capacity operated with low inventory, sufficient for just seven days. Plants with a capacity of about 90 GW have less than four days of stock.
