The curbs on foreign travel mean that the domestic tourist is now willing to splurge on glamping, which comes with the bragging rights of an “unconventional” holiday. Thus, while monthly occupancy in Indian hotels was just 21% in May, according to industry tracker STR, properties offering glamping have seen demand shoot up.
