Sensex rises in early trade, Nifty above 15,750; banks and IT stocks gain

The S&P BSE Sensex index rose as much as 252 points to touch 52,695.58 in the first few minutes of trade, and the broader NSE Nifty50 benchmark climbed to as high as 15,783.80, up 74 points from its previous close.
