Sensex gains in early trade, Nifty above 15,850; L&T, Infosys rise up to 2%

The S&P BSE Sensex index rose as much as 140 points to touch 53,044.01 in the first few minutes of trade, and the broader NSE Nifty50 benchmark climbed to as high as 15,886.75, up 33 points from its previous close.
